The French and Indian War, the Revolution, the Texas War for Independence, the Indian Wars (there are several), and the Civil War all fought on north American soil. Centuries old conflicts but America is a baby nation at least as far as history is concerned. It's amazing to think someone could have a "no War could ever be fought here" hot take.

Wars aren't just fought for land, they could be fought for social reasons, racial mostly, and we arent a homogenous society. Who knows what conflicts could arise in the next 100 yrs? When you count how many conflicts we've been involved in for the past 100 yrs it's pure hubris to think we can't be touched by it here at home. How that conflict would go is certainly up to interpretation but count me out of the "can never happen" camp.

The War of 1812 isn't called a forgotten conflict for nothing.
