So the Medicaid office is right next door to the social security office . Medicaid office.. not an empty chair. Filled up and overflowing out of the office Social security office.. I was the only person in there.. and I thought.. yep this about sums up America right here.

I’ve been to the SSA once and it was packed. Hour plus wait.

It was actually because I changed jobs and they rejected my filing because THEY had the wrong spelling of my name and wrong SSN. I had to take an afternoon off work and wait an hour…

to convince them they screwed up and to accept my filing and check. While I was pissed, I was also the most cordial person to them.

Between taking my teenager to the DPS and hearing all the BS and lies they have to deal with in the last year, I kinda get why government employees at agencies like that are miserable.

99% of the people there are lying, don’t have the correct information, want something for free, or don’t have a clue. I had all the correct info for my 16 YO getting their license and it was an ok experience. I was thanked for making it easy for them as opposed to 99% of their interactions. The two people in front of us were grandparents getting their grandkids licenses and didn’t have an idea where any information was.

So I kinda get it.

We should go back to bonds. Government proposes a program and asks for bonds. You want to support it, you buy a bond. You don’t, then you don’t have to. Programs the people want get paid for. The ones they don’t, don’t.
