That's much easier said than done, though. The more well off can. Those who are barely scraping by don't have other options.

I've volunteered over the years to work with special needs children (mostly through the Special Olympics), and I've gotten to know some of their families and caregivers. Like any other segment of society their means runs the spectrum. The poorest families are thankful for every bit of help they can get, even just a day or two of fun and games. That's why seeing this shite is heartbreaking.
