What he isn't for are for trespassers. These people were trespassing in his back yard and they had every right to make reasonable attempts to move them.
But it's pretty clear how these beliefs organize themselves into what we see today. It's quite short sighted to not see the track of progressive thought and what it leads to.
Even if he is right,and vehemently so,on one thing what he supports leads us here.
