Anti-Islamic rhetoric is created largely due to the actions of the plethora of hardcore Muslims (and especially Muslim-ruled countries) who prey upon others for not being Muslim, not being of their branch of Islam, are women and/or are gay.

It's because Iran has been funding and arming terrorists.
But this has all been true for decades. It's just now coming back as a hot topic, and many people who have been arguing for non-intervention are starting up the intervention talking points.

You think the Houthis are manufacturing their own missiles and delivery systems?
No, but, on the same token, Iran didn't just start giving Houthis missiles recently.

Every unresolved problem comes back up eventually, especially when those problems start getting worse. The Houthis, for example, have generally targeted the Yemen or Saudi government (meaning they have been a more "local" problem). Now they are targeting random oil tankers regardless of what country's flag it flies.
Along with that, the massacre Hamas committed on October 7th of last year revealed/underscored to many how Iran has been funding, arming and urging them (and other groups, like the Houthis) to be proxy guerilla terrorists. Everyone has been contented to look the other way for decades, but October 7th pushed Israel to take the strongest actions against attack that it has taken in a long, long time. That response has then keyed off other Iranian proxies to begin "punching up".
This all goes to the point that you can't simply ignore Islamic fundamentalism in the hopes that it becomes less violent, at least with today's level of worldwide connectivity.
