Anti-Islamic rhetoric is created largely due to the actions of the plethora of hardcore Muslims (and especially Muslim-ruled countries) who prey upon others for not being Muslim, not being of their branch of Islam, are women and/or are gay.

But this has all been true for decades. It's just now coming back as a hot topic, and many people who have been arguing for non-intervention are starting up the intervention talking points.
