The current hatred of "the rich" from the views of the O-T would be that it is rooted in Marxism as noted by how incredibly popular his teachings are with the "younger people." The French Revolution was an indictment of the state of the monarchy within France and the common people having no say in how they are governed which gave way for the birth of democracy,

I bet less than 1% of people under 30 in America even know who Karl Marx is much less are familiar with his teaching.
