I’ve purchased several. There isn’t one. If you buy one from a vendor there, they have to call it in to the ATF for a background check just like every where else.
There is no "gun show loophole", only an FFL can legally sell a new gun and they are required to perform a 4473 background check.
That said, a few years ago I attended a gun show in Natchitoches, LA. I saw a shotgun on a table with a few other guns and several boxes of ammunition. I decided to purchase the shotgun and the seller gave me a bill of sale and receipt but that was it, no 4473 or ID required. He said it was his personal gun and wrote it up as a private sale.
Private sales like that aren't illegal as long as the person selling it isn't doing so as a straw purchase or dealing without a license. Thinning out your collection, and getting rid of guns you don't need is perfectly acceptable.
I would imagine most gun shows would frown on this now because of all of the "loophole" ignorance being spewed by Anti- 2A groups these days. However, private sales aren't now and never have been illegal.
I'll bet if you hang around the parking lot at a gun show for a while you will find private transactions legally being conducted by law abiding individuals.
