I’m more impressed that a fat slob who lived off hot dogs and beer was able to do all he did. 
Going back to that time frame I’d say Jack Johnson. The line of guys he fought as Champion were a disgrace. He’s culturally significant but people use that to try and make his resume something it’s not.

The Pilejumper, Ray Lewis, has to be up there.
The Tyson fanboys won't like seeing his name in this thread, but Iron Mike is definitely overrated.
