Any new appliance is crap.
If you're not trying to keep up with the Jones's, buy appliances with old fashion dial timers and switches from craigslist or the thrift store.
You can afford to fix them with NOS (new old stock) parts still available on the internet IF they give out.
I guess I lucked out. My stove, oven, dishwasher and microwave are all 23 year old Frigidaire Gallery Series and still functioning perfectly. Fridge is a 10 year old Samsung and was able to fix the fan by myself. Waiting for it and the newer GE washer and dryer to shite the bed.
Avoid anything with a circuit board. More difficult to bypass.

This. Never buy expensive stuff. The $3 grand fridge isn’t going to last any longer than the $1200 model.

Go through all the appliance reviews. Every single one of them have a bunch of “This is junk and never should have been built” reviews, along with tales of how the manufacturer tried to stonewall warranty enforcement.
