I support keeping abortion at the state level not because of elections, but because I fail to see what it has to do with border protection, foreign treaties, national defense, or interstate commerce....which is all the Federal government is really supposed to be handling.

This is a principled position
But the same people saying “it should be left to the states” and ignoring that we are never, ever rolling back fedgov to the constitutional parameters they idealize are the ones telling us to be realistic on abortion, which is obviously pretty rich
