Are you of the impression that people in low income areas think highly of private school kids?

I had a single friend growing up that went to public school through middle school. He switched to a private school for HS but hid this fact from his public school friends because he said they would rag on him very hard if they knew he was going to private school the following year. He also said he had to keep the fact that he made good grades a secret because being smart was "Gay".

That really is the issue with public schools in Louisiana. The smart kids feel pressure to be dumb because being smart is looked down upon.
