I have a friend that owns boutique hotels along the Gulf Coast and several VRBO’s in nice beach towns and he tells me the occupancy is down at least 20% percent this year so far.

The industry standard for hotel numbers is the monthly STAR numbers. It’s the Smith Travel Report. The first three months of 2024 trail 2022 slightly (incredible record numbers that can’t be duplicated) but still higher than 2019 (best year precovid). Occupancy is no where 20% down in any market or across the state of Florida. The big number ADR and that is down about 15-20% because Florida was the only place open 2-3 years ago. Now that other markets are back online prices in Florida have come down. Im a retired tourism research analyst in Florida. That’s how I know you are lying.
