So, not one of all you MF who responded to this thread served in the military or believe the team should be out there for the National Anthem? I don't think he should have penned this letter this quick, however, I agree with him. Put your hands on your frigging chest for a minute and respect the flag and the people who died for you players, coaches, etc. I see all the fans respecting the flag and the players should too!!

Wrong Iowa was not out for the anthem either, although the media wants you to think they were

Some of us may not have served, but we are still taxpayers who do not like the idea of government blatantly disregarding the first amendment.

ignoring the fact that they did their normal pregame routine... this is America, not North Korea, nationalism should not be forced. it's not the "land of the free, but only if you do what I want"

If you did serve in the military, you should know that you fought to protect the right of these girls, or anyone for that matter, to do whatever the frick they want during the national anthem

Respecting military service has nothing to do with preparing for a sporting event you're participating in in the locker room during the national anthem.

Doesn't matter one bit. Someone's opinion doesn't hold more or less weight because they served in the military.

They didn't leave the court because of the anthem. They left the court because it was part of their pregame warmup routine. The football team is NEVER on the field for the anthem. The other 2 teams that played that night weren't on the court. It was not and is not a protest. Regardless, you can't pull scholarships because someone protested. Like I said,

The nfl teams use to be in the locker room working on their game plan during the NA. No one noticed. I don't mind this as it takes away any chance at showboating by players during the NA.

Wow. Do you need a tissue? You are a pathetic example of what is wrong with our military. You don't deserve special treatment because you volunteered for service. That's not how this works. While it is appreciated, you don't have to be sucked off 24/7 for making that choice, especially when nearly every military operation of last 5 decades had nothing to do with making Americans safer and "protecting our freedoms".

Forcing anyone to be a fluffer for your ego is just pathetic.

Oh and if it makes you feel better... Thank you for your service.

I've served 23 years in the Marine Corps and I can tell you what I swore to defend. I/We swore to oath to defend the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Not a damn flag. Now, with all due respect, the flag represents FREEDOM. And in that freedom, you have a freedom to stand/sit/kneel or not attend.

Yep. And that’s the reason they win right?

I consider myself firmly on the right wing side of most issues. But I could not give a single frick about the anthem being played at sporting events or if the team is or isn’t present when it’s played.

The whole thing is stupid.
