Does this matter now? I thought this was about the principle and the effect on LSU sports.

Regarding Edwards: It was not a smart move, and he faced lots of heat. He did win his re-election but that was a one time budget battle which was resolved pretty quickly, the budget issue was resolved pretty quickly.

Threatening scholarships has a much higher potential to negatively impact LSU beyond 1 budget cycle.
