Were some of the players posting on TD during the game?

Clearly not, or they would have known to get hits instead of outs and the pitchers wouldn’t have walked anyone.

If only. This board is loaded with Hall of Fame caliber coaches who could easily turn this season around.

Johnson is pissed about the losing and he's even more pissed the players don't seem as upset about it as he thinks they should be

All the players care about is telling females they are on the baseball team.

It is sad that it has come to the point to tell the grown adults they can’t use their phones at the facility. I guess when it gets this bad we have to treat them like a travel ball team.

They aren’t adults. Most people that post on here are not “adults”. If you’re over 35 you understand what I mean. If you’ve been a college baseball player (or athlete in college) you certainly know how much fun you can have with little effort. Jay Johnson is the manager of this team. It is his responsibility to ensure his team is focused on their responsibilities. Parents understand this fully. Set expectations and make sure they meet them. Sometimes that means short term actions when you want their undivided attention. “If you can’t focus, I’ll help you.” Zero distractions.

When it gets to the level that we need to know this level of detail, I get worried.

Didn't mean they were gambling, just removing the risk of using apps like Kayshon did.

And how does this remove that risk?

No cell phones also forces the players to interact with one another, which obviously can lead to becoming a closer and more accountable team

To me, that's what I feel like has been missing. These guys seem like they are all out there for themselves and there's no team feeling.

No cell phones supposed to turn LSU team around?? Lordy! Lost last 7 games and now….???? A snort of coke might liven them up a tat but no phones?? JJ is desperate! Might could get one those Catholic priest to come to locker room and practice a little exorcism to drive out the demons!
____________

You are being dramatic. He didn't say it would turn the team around. It is 1 small step. He wants 100% focus on turning things around. Why is this a bad thing? He is frustrated, which is appropriate. I support Jay.

Feels like a violation of the players rights IMO. It's not like they are scrolling Instagram in the on deck circle. Looking for scapegoats and blaming players instead of taking accountability for recruiting misevaluations and lack of development isn't a good look for the progrum.

The right travel ball team has enough player leadership that cell phones ain’t a thing.

I thought the rule was that they couldn't place bets on campus and couldn't bet on NCAA sports.

I was wrong. The rule is "NCAA sports
wagering rules do not allow studentathletes or athletics employees (1) to bet
on any sport sponsored by the NCAA
at any level, including college and/or
professional or (2) to share information for
sports wagering purposes.

I’m pretty sure the UCONN basketball team does something similar. Hurley takes phones night before game and gives back after the game. Must work
