There are a lot of people on the Union payroll to collect tolls or operate the EZ Pass system.


There are also some subsidies that are probably going to Subway service.

Wikipedia says ~200,000 crossings per day with a toll of over $6. I doubt that's accurate for a Sunday morning though. And the Verazzanno is right at the start line, so it can reopen almost immediately after runners cross it
