The homeless in Charleston are pretty awesome for the most part.

I ran into a homeless guy in Whitefish Montana a few years ago and a couple of hippie looking girls with some sort of protest sign were preaching to him about some environmental cause. He grabbed her granola bar and threw it in the bushes and told her to get her commie arse out of his town. He started walking with my family as we walked by and he was funny as hell. I handed him a $20 and some woman runs up and says don’t give him money he will just buy alcohol. I said lady I don’t give a fuk what he buys with it. Still laugh when I think about him telling me about throwing their granola bars in the bushes.

I was tripping one night at the Flora Bama. Took a hit of acid right at closing time. Had a blast with some people from Auburn on the beach the rest of the night just outside of the bar. We ended up a half mile away in front of some condos. Sun began to rise and people starting bringing out their chairs to lay out on the beach. I started freaking out at this point, walked all the way to the Perdido Pass Bridge, jumped in and swam to Robinson island to hide for whatever reason. Stayed there until I could get my shite together. Some folks picked me up on their boat and took me back to the Flora Bama around 10 that AM. Took a cab home from there. That was 25 years ago.

Nothing to really do with this guy from Charleston, but I see how things like this might happen.
