Outgoing tide, yes. And it is not far at all.

No, they pass on the other side of the island.

So this guy went home for a bit to, what? And then decided, I'm going to go back out even though nothing is really open and not go to the river close to my house, but go over and hang out on the other side of the peninsula?

I'm skeptical.
