Man!!!! He's really tackling major issues that matter. I feel soooooo much better about the fact I'm paying more than double on my homeowners insurance now that TJeff is gonna sponsor legislation requiring Student Athletes to be present for the national anthem.

That and infrastructure were bothering me, but he identified the REAL problem people are concerned with.

Yea!!!!@

Gov Landry looks like kind of a tard considering in college football the teams stay in the locker room while the band plays the national anthem on the field.

Should make in mandatory to serve in the military for 3 years like other countries

This is one of those takes that is extraordinarily short sided. It might work in a meatbag military but won't work in a modern professional military in a country the size of the US. You would shite yourself when you saw the pricetag. It take a LOT of money to feed, clothe, house, pay, and especially train someone in the US military. Not to mention the economic impact of taking every person out of the work force for three years.

8 million people turned 18 in the US last year so you are talking about increasing the number of people in the military by 20 fold if you do 3 year mandatory for everyone. The cost would be staggering. You aren't thinking even one move ahead.

From what I understand, Mulkey has her pregame routine she has always done. This was just bad timing.

I’ve no reason to doubt Mulkey’s explanation and tend to think this particular situation has been overblown.

On the flip side of the coin, fairly or unfairly this recent iteration of the Lady Tigers didn’t imprint themselves on the larger national conscience as necessarily classy winners.

For some of them to act like they feel victimized now probably reinforces a lot of the negative perceptions that likely had most of the country being happy to see them sent home.

I would hope he'd be more concerned with the rampant corruption in state government.

He is a clown. The man grew up poor and has been in law enforcement and government for 25 years. Yet he lives in a 1.3 million dollar home outside of Lafayette.

He needs to keep his corrupt arse mouth shut or tell us how he came into so much money so fast.

What's the point in forcing them to be in attendance if they will just pull a Kaepernick?

Make them take the knee publicly and declare openly their disrespect and not be cowards hiding in the locker room. That’s exercising free speech. Everyone wants to talk about their “rights” and “freedoms”; not so much about the obligations and consequences that accompany them.

It was just a timing mistake by LSU. They did not intentionally miss the anthem.

Not true. Mulkey hasn't brought her team out for the anthem since Baylor. The LSU women's team hasn't been out for the anthem since Mulkey got to LSU.

would you rather them kneel and disrespect the anthem, or for them not to be on the court at all?

You act as if those are the only two options...as if the student athletes call the shots.

Show them the door if they pull some bullshite. Sure they could go somewhere else, but principles matter.

Neither does most other college teams
Uconn and USC weren't on the court for the anthem

So every CFB team and the majority of other college sports teams are disrespectful? How about you learn how shite works instead of popping your mouth off
