They aren’t being paid based off Name, Image and Likeness. They are being paid by boosters to attend the school they are. Same with the men.

Of course a few may be making a decent amount on the side but most money is tied directly to boosters who want these athletes at their college.

Also, the average American couldn’t name 5 players in the WNBA. This little bump in women’s basketball viewership is solely due to the generational talent Caitlyn Clark.
