Gets hits against midweek teams and gets over matched against SEC teams.
You could say that about a lot of our players, except they can’t get hits in midweek games now either

Still, Loer was the biggest disappointment.
And from the left side too. I thought he’d be a steal in the portal

Why, he pitched at Xavier with a student pop of less than 1k? Who would he have faced to believe he would be a top tier pitcher?

This bullpen is the biggest disappointment to me. Ulloa, loer, cam johnson, hurd, guidry, coleman. Id have never guessed all those guys would be this bad

That’s the problem with projecting. Sometimes you get a Skenes, sometimes you get Loer
Nobody here had any reason to know Skenes the pitcher outside of that one game in BR. A coupe years and 8 mph more and he skyrockets to #1 pick

Some players make it happen.
Some players watch it happen
LSU players wonder WTF happened

Common thread?
Not sure yet, what do you think it is?

When this turns around Cheer, your service during the downturn will not be forgotten. Thanks again.

Top tier? Who said that?
But a reliable bullpen lefty, yea, I think everyone was expecting that.

I think it’s the starters for me. Had Hurd with great experience in tough environment, Holman coming in as another sec team’s ace, and a myriad of other people shooting for the Sunday spot, and now we’re set on Friday nights but unless Holman puts up a goose egg, we have a great chance of being behind

Holman is good. Jump is an enigma to me. His stuff is good, his numbers are good, but he just looses his shot out there at times and it falls apart so fast. I expected hurd to struggle. He struggled early last year and all of the spring preseason

First off Xavier has way more than less than 1k students. More like 6k students.
Second off Loer is a guy throwing mid 90s from the left side with multiple pitches. He pitched against more than a handful of decent teams there and produced well. 1.89 ERA over all last season and he pitched a TON including 2 shutdown innings against Vandy in the tournament.
There is no explanation for a guy like that getting tagged by fricking Southern all of a sudden. There's plenty of cases of mid-majors players coming to major teams and playing well, you really cant blame this one "oh hes just from a small school", the guy clearly has arm talent. He's not a lefty throwing 88 with junk.
Yeskie has done an awful job so far, simply put.

This team is just not good. Hope they improve.
Posted on 4/1/24 at 10:13 pm to josh336
It’s baffling. Outside of 3-4 people (White, Trav, Jones, and Bingham), you have zero idea what to expect from anyone on the field. White is in a class by himself, and Jones still has a hole in his swing but is still producing. Travinski and Mac are steady
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone be a 4 tool player like Kling and the missing tool be contact
