re: 60 minutes is about run a hit piece

I found the 60 minutes piece to be quite informative and disturbing. I did not feel that it was a piece designed to promote involvement in Ukraine. It was quite critical of US administration. I did think it pointed out that the US operates in a dangerous world - more dangerous than some of our non-serious leaders would like to admit or deal with. There are patriotic and committed people (maybe not all) that work around the world to promote US interests both openly through diplomatic missions and covertly. People (and in some cases their families) we may know that are our fellow citizens putting it on the line. Some of these "hits" even occurred on US soil. At this point, our government won't even publicly recognize the problem. The WH has already issued a statement contradicting the 60 Minutes report. One could argue reasonably about whether involvement in Ukraine is in the US interest. I have my doubts. But this doesn't change the fact that Russia and others are actively trying to hurt the US on multiple fronts. The BRICS economic threat and shifting alliances/supply chains as outlined in another thread about David Sacks was spot on. Whether our leadership can seriously address this is what will keep me awake tonight. I also have my doubts about this as they seem to be more concerned about special group grievances. That's a sign of lack of seriousness. But we sure can't do it if our most effective persons are being knocked off the board by non-lethal but highly damaging targeting on par with assassination.
