Has the state of florida updated Maralago on the tax roles to reflect a value of 18m?

As such, I would gamble that DJT has a path to obtaining a HUGE tax settlement from both NY and FL based on the valuations of 'persons' acting in an 'official capacity'.

Awesome! Make the judge and the AG 'personally' liable for the damages!

I would love to see a jury trial on this in S. Florida. I am sure the natives hate all the Yankees that come from NY and clog up their state.

How? Again, what authority does NYC have to place value on anything outside of the get Trump saga?

The judge in essence pretty much decreed that all of the property in the area is vastly over valued. Do you want the property values up in your neighborhood or not? Do you want an arbitrary figure setting the market value of homes in your neighborhood significantly lower by ruling your neighbors’s house, the biggest in the community is worth a fraction of what was the market value?

Yep, that judge just ruined property value in Florida, and I guess he didn’t think it though, hope Florida gets billions in damages

Does Florida law protect official acts in another state?

What’s good for the goose and all of that. If there’s no specific protection, it’s fair game.

Isn't ny trying to say that the government is the only entity when it comes to valuing property? Banks, the owner and potential buyers don't matter.. everything must be valued and sold for what the government says.

Again, he's got 0 say in the values of the property outside of the sham trial he sat over.

So you're telling me the state of florida is going to update their tax assessment based off the ruling? Yeah, no...

The only true point of authority is the State of Florida and/or a local appraiser during a transaction.

A big nothingburger

Not so sure about that skippy. I think if you act improperly in a official capacity you can be held accountable.

I don't understand how the city of New York can sue Trump over the value of a property in Florida and "have standing" when Texas apparently didn't have standing to sue the federal government for a rigged election that installed a someone who is actively destroying their state.

The moron's official capacity is judge, not property appraiser. He also played Gilligan over 45 years ago.

If there is such a suit by Florida my guess is that it would have to be something along this line. The judge had made several statements that he did not care what professional qualified valuation were and that his opinion is what mattered. Just because he is a judge it does not give him authority over an industry professional qualified for the valuation.

Also, it appears the property at the focus of the NY lawsuit is in Florida so the NY Ag and Judge could be interfering with commerce clause and injecting NY law into FL jurisdiction.

Then they shouldnt have brought non-NY RE holdings into the matter to make their case. What's good for the goose...

False.

You do not get immunity for:
1. Fraud
2. Election interference
3. Doing whatever you want to do

Hope your legal degree didnt cost you too much.

The homeowner can pull up the Florida Tax Assessor website and show what its valued at or have an appraiser in Florida quickly show the real value

That was pretty much the sham that occurred in the trial. You can bet that whatever bank he used to get loans had an appraised value to his properties.

Under the rules used by the AG to bring this case there are probably hundreds if not thousands who committed the same supposed violation if they refinanced their mortgage using a ny based bank.
My house is on the tax roles valued at x amount. When I refinanced I had an outside appraiser value my place over $100k more. I used that appraisal for a new loan and dare I say got a great rate that some scrub may not have been eligible for. OMG I committed fraud. F them........the agreed loan is being paid off. Unless I’m misunderstanding the case the same thing happened.
