They could have done it a little later in the morning, but this was a search warrant. It will be served at his home, not at his job.

Why, though? (Sincere question)

Nah. I'd have done it earlier.

Jacob, please stop with the bullshite.

They could have served him with the search warrant as he was leaving his house to go to work, and given him the option to continue on to work while they toss the house, or give him the option to stay present. The 6AM full raid bullshite puts the agents' lives in danger. Let's say this guy is 100% guilty of gun smuggling and dealing with gangs and is basically a kingpin Lord of War type guy. Let's say for the sake of argument, he is better off with a bullet in his head. Why on God's Green Earth would you put your own agents' lives in unnecessary danger with a 6AM raid on his house?

You could even wait for him to get to work, and serve him in the parking lot while he's getting out of his car, and tell him his house is being searched. There's no reason to do it like the ATF did it, in this situation.

Again, who cares about the dead guy (for the sake of argument) but for the sake of the agents, who were allegedly shot at, why make that move?
