Did ucla play zone? I can’t remember and won’t dare watch the tape.

It was a very ugly game, I had the misfortune of being there - low scoring like 58-46 or something like that.

UCLA jumped out by 12 very early and after that they struggled to score just as badly as we did and the margin stayed at about that 12 points the final 36 minutes, we never really threatened.

Yeah, it was a painful conclusion to a great Final Four travel experience- we made a family trip of it. Had a great time talking trash back and forth with the Gator fans, the George Mason fans were just thrilled to be there so nobody messed with them; they knew they would lose and just enjoyed everything. The UCLA fans were snobby and aloof.
Best description I could give, you saw 3 fanbases (LSU, Fla and George Mason) rocking team gear, drinking a lot of beer at the team "bars", and wandering about. And then you had the Cali boys with designer jeans smugly off to the side, smirking at everyone.

I wanted to kick my brother's arse- he booked the hotels for us, and we settled into a nice one (Marriot, I think?). Like I said, almost everything we had to wear was purple and gold.
Came down to the lobby the next morning after arriving, and discovered we were in UCLA's official HQ hotel . No way to hide, and we had to go through their crowds after they beat us.
I had tickets for every game including the finals, and they were so obnoxious I went and found Gators fans to sell at cheap discount. I initially considered selling to UCLA fans as they offered more, but they were SO condescending I refused to do so.
