There was an adult recently discovered in the Chattahoochee in the ATL area in the trout stream part of it. Atlanta is not out of range for Alligators, however, that section of the hooch is ice cold water running out of the bottom of Lake Lanier, and supposedly too cold for alligators to live. It's obviously not global warming, it's more that wildlife learns to adapt and survive and spread, in my opinion.

They released some decades ago in north Alabama (Lauderdale County) on the Tennessee River for beaver control. Thought they wouldn't survive. They were wrong. Mostly centrally located in Wheeler Lake, but not uncommon in the summers to find them branching out.
