This 100% looks to be an apartment or townhome though or I would say mount it on the wall and clean up the cables.
The only other thing that makes me go hmmmm is the double deadbolt on the door.

Recliner does have some built-in cup holders and I am sure the arm opens up so that you can safely and securely stow your remote. My god, can you imagine never having to worry about trying to find the remote?
