Worked with a guy who had done some videos for ATF. He was an amiable kind of guy, but he really despised the ATF. It's evidently a very toxic culture.

Just a hunch, but one thing ATF seems to be focused on lately is the abuse of the privileges law enforcement has around fully automatic weapons. This guy's job would likely have made him sort of adjacent to law enforcement. He may even have been line manager for law enforcement.

None of this justifies what the ATF did or even its existence. Just speculating.

But it pays well and has awesome benefits.
