I learned how to read using phonics in the early 70s. I was a great reader at an early age.

These people just overthink things and get away from tried-and-true methods.

Can’t get paid by selling last year’s curriculum. You have to shift the paradigm every decade or so to make the big bucks

One, the people making the decisions don’t listen to the people actually doing the work.

Two, the decision makers aren’t happy until they completely (uselessly) overhaul the curriculum every few years.

They have to keep positions open for incompetents by making all these changes.

It’s more sinister. They want to apply the techniques to teach the bottom 10% of readers and apply those techniques (also for dyslexics) to the other 90% of readers.
