It's for the same folks who do Mardi Gras parades and just can't quite emotionally move on from Mardi Gras. This gives them one last emotional boost.

I’m all in for Mardi Gras bc it’s a 2 week celebration
I’ve never understood St Patrick’s Day or the parades and green beer. I guess some people just don’t have anything else to do.
I’m Italian and lapsed catholic so I get St Joseph’s alter
I don’t even think St Patrick is Irish
