Epps averaged 5 points a game over his 4-year career here (same as Fountains 4-year average in the SEC in his career)
And the one year wade coached him they made the NIT… and now with fountain being a key piece of this team (a similar player by your own regard) we also made the NIT… so what is your point exactly? All you’ve done is show that with similar level players we’ve had similar results…. Though I’d take Duop Reath over Will Baker any day.
Do with that information what you will.
I don’t think Wade inherited an ideal situation but it’s beyond obtuse to suggest Wade and McMahon inherited similar programs. Even if you think the roster Wade inherited wasn’t “filled with good players” the players he did have were undeniably better. Plus that era of basketball was different so he had an actual foundation unlike McMahon who had to scramble to keep guys here + pick from a shallow portal.
Everyone knows JJ last team was better than a 2 win team on paper. Thats part of the reason he got fired- underachieving. To use the two win narrative to make it act like Wade inherited a shite show is silly. That roster was not a dogshit roster. They had a dogshit coach.

My point is and always has been that the statement that we have established was made by Pirate King - twice, and defended both times by you and others, that WW inherited 5 "really good" players and the program was in good shape talent-wise it's just Johnny Jones sucked, is wrong and IMHO not even close to being right.
quote:Yeah the Duop Reath now absolutely, the one who's been playing organized ball for like 3 years and was raw as hell, the one we had, and I'm not big Will Baker pimp, but I could still could not say that.
Though I’d take Duop Reath over Will Baker any day.

I'm not trying to say that and sorry you keep drawing that conclusion. I'm merely using examples from our current roster to show the folly of the vast reach Pirate King is making with that list and keeps getting defended for.
Even Mays who of all of them was the most talented, hell that's like if Ward are Reed end up playing a year or two in the NBA down the line which is possible, they both have pretty high cielings IMHO, me coming back 5 years from now
Man CMM sucked had pro talent all over that team and barely made the NIT.
