They have a great mountain bike trails nearby. If you don't have any bikes, you'll need to get some!

Very similar topography to the trails in Ruston.
ETA:
East Texas is a lot like North Louisiana. Hilly, with lots of pine trees. Lots of lakes. Good barbecue. In general, their public schools are better than most here. High school football is the biggest thing in town.
