Recruiting will pick up when Angel leaves. I wonder if there is a lot of negative recruiting against LSU because of her. Again, just an opinion
I actually strongly disagree respectfully. Reese is a polarizing figure (like Kim), for better or worse. The thing is over the last year LSU has had a HEAVY surge with publicity, opportunities, etc and there is a lot of jealousy in the NIL era where certain teams/players are capitalizing much more on it than others. Its pretty obvious there is some jealousy going on between specific players and programs.
The only downside from this last year is because LSU is so heavily followed and under a microscope, they are also scrutinized much more than your typical team (deserved or not), and for some recruits maybe they dont want to deal with that and prefer a more quiet and under the radar environment.
But that is okay, the publicity, exposure and potential opportunities will be a turn on for a lot of recruits/transfers and for others they may not want to deal with that and thats okay. You just have to go after the ones who want to be apart of that type of environment.
We just have to get past the 2024 class failure was more on LSU recruiting the wrong players more so than people running away because of Reese/Mulkey. Like I mentioned in the post on the first page. Most of that recruiting list was a long shot to begin with and not realistic while the recruiting list was exceptionally small. They will move on and adjust as needed. We literally signed the #1 class and transfer class just over a year ago and Kim struck gold in her first HS/Portal class as well

I don't think we are that far apart in my assessment of the situation

Well said. Swung for the fence and missed on Strong, Edwards, Cambridge, and Koval. It’s not the end of the world recruiting the top 2 transfers last year and 4 freshman in the top 100 ESPN rankings (2, 7, 44, 74).
Even IF HVL and Angel leave you have:
Smith | Del Rosario
Morrow
Johnson | Kent
Williams
Poa | Velez | Richard
Plus the transfer portal.
The depth concerns are overblown this year. With Poole dismissed and Smith going down having 4 true freshman exacerbated the situation. But, it’s WBB, and the top teams minus UConn and SC have maybe 3-4 legit top players. LSU is still one of the most talented teams in the nation.
Del Rosario and Poa are the key for this year and will play a huge roll + the big 5 of course on repeating.
With that said if we don’t win it again this year, I could very easily see both HVL and Angel returning next year for one last run.

Could be wrong but starting to think with transfer portal and players on team returning they were extremely picky with recruits for this class
