My cousin now has me doubting that a 60 will be adequate for my 18x54. It's just me, wife, and 5yr old... I think the 60 should be enough

My boat is the same size, side console and custom made so thicker/heavier. I can run low to mid 40s in it. That 60 will push it fine.

Friend of mine has been a boat motor mechanic since 1986 in Louisiana. He 100% believes in them says they put out more power than the Merc & Yamaha, better warranty. I can't offer anything additional.

I went Yamaha for service/parts closer to the house. The 60 should serve you well on your boat but if it's rated for more....buy once cry once!

i have the 1752 with tohatsu mfs40 and it does 33 mph with just me and it has no performance issues even when fully loaded. i guess i could go bigger but why? i dont need to go over 35mph in a boat any way

that 60 is overpowering your flatboat for what it needs, but some idiots put 70hp or even 90hp on them
