I still think the prosecution has the betting edge in conviction, but it's gotten a lot closer to a coin flip.

The day after I'd have guessed something like 85-90% shot.

Now it's like 55-45.

Hindsight is 20-20, but they should have given immunity immediately to Carver. Instead they doubled down and charged him with video voyeurism months after, eliminating any latitude they had relating to his alleged criminal conduct.

Politically, it's going to be really difficult to give the white kid immunity after he was charged with the one thing they can prove almost 100%, months after the initial indictments.

They grossly overcharged Carver with charges that have 0% chance of sticking.

So if there is video of her having sex with them (the charge of voyeurism says that) and also shown to be massively inebriated then how could she consent?
