. As another poster said, his highlights don't jump out at you....bbbeeccccaaauuusssseee, he isn't explosive.
Because all you idiots have the Harold Perkins rushing the passer syndrome. You think there is no impact being made unless they are coming down hill.
Watch his highlights again. His first 10 or so highlights, he either gets his hands on the ball (INT, or batted pass), or he is turning around running in coverage.
The best LB's in modern football are able to play outside the hash. West Weeks and Tyler Grubbs definitely aren't doing that . Whit Weeks, while instinctual, was lost outside the hash marks as a Fresh (hint, he can't run like this guy and isn't strong enough to shed blockers, either).
That skillset is way more valuable then being the best athlete on the field and just running after the QB like Cobbins, for instance. Or Harold Perkins as a freshman.
The best is yet to come for Ross. You recruit traits. The Jr film just so happens to be good, too. You just don't know what you are watching

First, I saw the batted passes...these videos are called "highlights" for a reason. I never mentioned Perkins so that comment is irrelevant to me. Whit Weeks can run sideline to sideline easily. I saw the athletic ability but you are right in that with the LSU defense this season, a LOT of guys were lost...not WW fault. Ross is definitely faster than Grubbs who tackles well but doesn't get to enough plays. I saw no proof BTW that Ross could shed blockers..or couldn't shed blockers. Once again, scholarship worthy but rated properly by the recruiting services and his offer sheet is for a very low 4* or 3* player...it simply is. As I said, he won't start an LSU game in his career but a decent player.
