The only reason they are still relevant is because of the weak schedule they play every year

That's a pet peeve of mine, that Notre Dame plays a weak schedule. They roughly play the same number of top end teams as any school in a major conference. They just get dinged because they play a lot of service academies, never mind that teams in power conferences play Vandy/Northwestern/Wake Forest/Cal/Colorado along with a couple of cupcake non-conference games.

Since 2020, in the regular season they've played
Florida State, twice
USC, four times
Ohio State, twice
Clemson, three times
North Carolina, three times
Wisconsin

Over the next four years they will play
Texas A&M, twice
Florida State, twice
USC, three times
Wisconsin
North Carolina, twice
Miami

2020
10-2 Clemson
8-4 UNC

Clemson was okay, but the 2nd best team had a mediocre season.

2021
13-1 Cincinnati

Your best was a 1 loss G5 team?

2022
11-2 Ohio St
11-3 Clemson
11-3 USC

This is the only season where they played true competition

2023
11-2 Ohio St
10-4 Louisville
9-4 NC St
9-4 Clemson

Louisville, NC St, and Clemson would have been destroyed in the SEC. Ohio St was at best equal to Mizzou.

You can't throw up names and call it a good schedule. There is a reason why these teams field a 0-1 loss team only to be bitch slapped in the playoffs.
