Maybe so but there’s plenty of truth here too.

My raises and bonuses are based upon the CPI (with a multiplier) and a percentage of the firm’s profits.

Some years I’ve made more in bonus than in salary.

Admittedly, it’s mostly local or regional firms that pay large salaries/bonuses.
