Just rewatched 80s Catch Me If You Can where student was doing street races as bets for school fundraiser. 80s cheese at its finest.

Everyone who said Fast Times at Ridgemont High, check out The Wild Life. It's kind of a spiritual sequel - Cameron Crowe wrote it, Eric Stoltz plays a character that's basically the same as Judge Reinhold's from Fast Times, Leah Thompson plays a character that's basically the same as Jennifer Jason Leigh's from Fast Times, Sean Penn's brother plays a meathead wrestler, Eddie Van Halen did the soundtrack. I dunno how easy it is to find - I got a physical copy from Amazon during high COVID.

The Last American Virgin
St. Elmo’s Fire

The edgiest and most grounded of the coming of age movies. Movies like Fast times and Candles got all the press but Virgin was the most relatable and ended exactly as it should have.

Manhunter

Other than the over acting of William Petersen, this was an excellent stylized movie and our first cinematic introduction to Hannibal Lecter.
