I know young people who wear tshirts from 70s and 80s bands because it’s retro, not because they like the band.
If you ask them about the band they give you a blank look

I have a collection of over 150 70s and 80s concert Ts most of which I bought in HS and college at thrift stores for .75 to 2 bucks each. Many of them have gotten so thin you could read a newspaper through them and have various holes in them. My wife set a few of the worst aside and said I needed to throw them away, I told her they were worth something and she said only if they were pristine and they were barely above rags. I made a deal with her that if I sold 5 of them on eBay and they averaged more than $45 each she wouldn't bug me about them again. I sold a Zepplin, Stones, The Who, AC/DC, and CBGB on eBay and they brought a total of just over $720. Turns out a reseller in WeHo bought 4 of them and wanted to buy anything else I had, I declined but he said most of his sales were to the 18-25 crowd who had basically no idea who the bands were. He also said the more worn and the thinner they were the more they brought.

I wear a Harley Davidson hat every once in a while. I have never owned one but my son bought the hat for me when he was in PCB last summer with his friends family. His friends dad has a Harley and they went in the Harley store.
I’ve never thought much about it.
My kid went to D.C. about 9 years ago. He bought me a Smithsonian hat at the air and space museum.
It's my favorite hat (he is off at college. It was my favorite before he left for college). It is faded. The brim is worn through a little.
We wear clothes because we like the way we feel in them. I have 2 harley davidsons and a Kawasaki. But most of my t shirts are gifts from others thinking about me on their trips.

While I haven't owned a bike in years, I still have tons of shirts from dealers all over the place (most I've been too) along with jackets, chaps, ect. I don't wear them everyday. But I'm not the one who once owned a bike for a couple months. I had several at one time and a couple I built frame up. All Harleys of course. Once kids and marriage came along, they slowly went. One day I'll own/build another.
I probably have more LSU shirts, jerseys, hats, shoes, ect than most also...

What if I buy a Ford product that is the Harley Davidson edition with the orange trim?
I don’t have to ride a two wheeled death trap between my legs.

I own three Harley's but do not own one stitch of their way overpriced clothing. Unless they changed their manufacturing their t-shirts were those crappy Gildan shirts that felt like cardboard and they cost like $35. Their bikes are also overpriced but I bought two used and the third my brother left to me when he passed away.

they make a brand. I think most of it looks like trash (like the old Affliction shirts). people support that brand and wear their stuff.

What is the point of wearing Cowboy boots and hat if you are not on a horse?

Why do you have any name brand clothes?

Same reason people wear cowboy hats and drive Jeeps or leveled/squatted F-250s: it's a radio signal to the other gays.

Same goes for Cowboy boots and hats by the logic. Western larping if there's no horse.
