They just provided an update here.
Apparently it was a part in the front differential. Toyota told them the part is designed to fail under extreme stress, to protect the rest of the drive train. Toyota apparently agreed what they were doing shouldn’t fall under that category.

They make front diffs out of the cheapest aluminum they can find these days. The rear diff is almost certainly more robust.

These people are morons. The fact neither front tire was active in the first vid says it’s not single a hub, not a cv axle and is central to the Front drive. Prob the shift fork sleeve or clutch.
