I’ll never understand why it bothers certain people so much when the entire state refers to ULL as ULL. I mean look it up. The official name is the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Looks like you got the problem little brother!

From their perspective, they want to be Louisiana strictly for athletics. For academics they are UL Lafayette. They compare it to UC Berkeley (Cal) or UT Austin (Texas).

Personally, I don’t see why this is such a big deal to LSU people. I could see why LTU people wouldn’t like it. There’s nothing the folks in Lafayette could do at this point to become a threat to LSU. People tend to forget how big of a brand nationally LSU is. Very few people know UL/UL Lafayette outside of the region.

Way too many mouths to feed. There needs to be a consolidation and a flagship of the system designated. Yall can debate who deserves this designation.

I disagree. Been in the military living all over the U.S. and overseas for 30 yrs. I’m always surprised at the people I meet that are familiar with U of L Ragin Cajuns.

You do know the A&M designation is because LSU is the land grant institution in Louisiana. The federal government selected them which is another reason we are the flagship. You hate us cause you ain’t us.

Your only slice of Cajun culture (Randol's) is permanently closed. The closest town with any Cajun heritage whatsoever is Abbeville.

The only "culture" Lafayette can claim in 2024 is meth capital of Louisiana.

That said, Baton Rouge is a total shithole as well. But I always found it desperate how UL clings on to the Cajun brand.

What game were you watching. ULL answered every big inning we had. They had the go ahead run at the plate in the 9th. That starter was throwing filth... they played a hell of a game and barley came up short

It was good game but I wouldn’t say they gave LSU as much as they could handle.

Grey up in Lafayette in the 80s - 2000s. Moved out of the state in 2017.
