Nope, but have a friend who has had several ranches out Sonora way over the years. We have hunted whitetail and Axis for free. In fact, will be going back in July.
I would not pay the money to hunt whitetail as I have better deer in my backyard here in Missouri. I am overall a meat hunter so not paying thousands for a trophy hunt. However, I have no problem with people who pay for those “expensive” hunts. As some have noted, many of these are business related and taking care of clients. To each his own.
Have a friend who has elk, bear, moose mounts and has done some fantastic hunts. He pays for them or is “comped” these hunts. He honestly has never skinned, much less processed anything he has killed. He likes clean, comfortable hunts with not too much effort involved and then others can get his meat ready. I doubt he can even sight in a rifle with a scope.
Again, I have no problem with his style of hunting although we are polar opposites.
