And they just stare at a screen all day.... sport has gotten sad and boring

Like a video game or someone staring at their phone all day

Electronics taught everyone we have been fishing wrong for 400 years.

And also made TV fishing unwatchable

Only thing you needa know is whether the cows are laying down or not. If they up and about, wet that hook and fish the entire body of water so then you know you didn’t miss anything. Tequila sunrise Texas rig is all you need. Maybe a white and/or chartreuse buzz bait, or plastic frog will substitute nicely. Anything beyond that is over complicating the matter.

Those are my go to. Guess that’s why I’m not a professional.

Yeah I don’t think they’re allowed to fish farm ponds either. Sucks to be them.

It’s truly changed the game. These high school and college kids are doing things in fishing these days that are amazing. Someone was testing some VR googles at Toledo Bend. At some point, we will change fishing to catching.

I’ll fish mine later this afternoon. Catch 8 or 10 and walk back home. No boat or fancy computer required.

totally agree...I'm seeing many pro's disgusted with this...
you can see them get the fish fired up but then you see them trying and trying and the fish just won't bite...

Very nice. There’s just something about walking a pond. Brings you back to your youth.

I don't have Livescope but everybody I know does. I stare at enough screens during the week that I just chunk, reel and drink beer. Often times I don't catch much of shite so I don't recommend my methods. I did drop 3k on a Helix 12. But the only thing I use it for are the water depth and temperature. Pretty sure I could have gotten something to tell me that for 2,900 less dollars.

It would be interesting if they had a "primitive" tournament with no electronics once a year.

Yeah but unfortunately everything sporting has become a rich man’s game.

Oh the horror!

What did they look at before FFS? The water?

I think the point is that the electronics take the challenge out of it. It looks like they just stare at a screen until they see a fish then throw there. That’s the the way of the world now though.

I’ve been here since Wednesday spectating and fishing. I can promise you, that it is not as easy as they make it look. I’d be willing to bet that most of these guys get less that 10 bites a day. These fish are not easy to catch at Fork. In fact, Fork is the most frustrating place I have ever fished, and I’ve been coming here for years. I’ve been “Forked” plenty of times. We are using livescope fishing deep and shallow. You can catch fish beating the bank, no doubt, but you’re not going to win this tournament doing that. I’m looking at the same fish they are in 5-8 foot range, and they are stubborn as a mule. The guys fishing out in the open are fishing for fish that are actively feeding on shad. Those have the higher likelihood of biting, and there’s no way to do it without LS. It’s boring as hell to watch, but I can’t complain about guy using it making a living.

As a spectator to their product, I can, it sucks to watch.
