How much will the diversion reduce storm surge?
Not sure why a simple question is being downvoted. Does anyone know how much this project would reduce storm surge?

Like every project since the 1930s, Mother Nature will win and the Corps will lose.
We keep trying to put tiny bandaids on a hemorrhaging problem when the only real solution is letting the river go where it wants to go. The levees are a disaster too but they’re obviously not going anywhere

I saw they predict it will build over 21 sq miles of land in 50 years. Over that time I believe it should reduce storm surge.
