He has never really had a shot at the big chair and likely never will as there are names with far more recognition out there. The Lt Gov position is his for as long as he wants it, it's about like voting for dog-catcher in that people tend to forget about it and just vote for the most familiar name.

I would wager 70%+ of the voters outside "tha parish" have no idea what this project is, much less why they should care about it (at least, for now). It's certainly not enough to make nor break the political career of anyone in BR.
