Which means nothing, just like the cap going INTO this 2024 free agency season meant nothing.

The italicized happened in the last 10 years, and very recently. Mahomes, J Love, Lamar, and Herbert. Edit - also Lance.
Bolded is after 2000, which is still very relevant. Literally almost ALL of this qb stashing listed occurred AFTER 2000.
And there are other examples in past history. Johnny Unitas’ backup won MVP after Unitas retired.
