Completely wrong - this scenario occurs all the time.
No it doesn't.
Jordan Love. That's it under the current rookie wage scale era.

Youre dumb if you think we pass on one of the top 3 qbs if on drops.
If that happens, we were dumb to restructure Carr, is the correct response. That restructure destroys the value of a 1st round QB.

Yes dumbass. Yes.
Then we lose the move EV+ portion of his career. Literally waste it. That's our likely Super Bowl window (if he's legit).

You think ARod had a small contract?
The Packers could absorb the dead cap cutting him. Can we do the same with Carr in 2025? The answer is no.

Its not going to happen. But if the FO and coaches see a game changing, franchise making, future HoF QB drop to them you don't just pass that up. Never. No matter the current state of your Org..

The answer is yes. Easily.
Packers drafted Love in 2020.
Their dead cap at the END of the season for 2022 was over $30 million, and dead cap after losing ARod in 2023 was $67million. These are very Saints like numbers. $97 million over a two year span.
For comparison, Saints deadcap at the end of 2023 was $35 million, and $43 million in 2022. $78 million over a two year span.
The packers operate similarly to the Saints, as do several other teams, with restructures etc.
Packers had a huge deadcap looming and still drafted Love.
Common practice. Bruh Karen think she knows something, get a grip lady.
Please dont cite offseason pre free agency numbers in response its meaningless.
