It’s rare but funny you say that, as lsu got valu-brand Konnor Griffin to campus about 15 years ago. Fellow Mississippian Jacoby Jones. He was never supposed to make it to school, so it does happen. But with griffin, no chance

I'm a Mississippi Native who's followed MS HS sports all of my life. I get the point you are making, Konnor is a generational talent here in Mississippi. He is likely going to be the highest drafted HS kid every out of the state. He's absolutely killing it his sr season batting over .700 with 7 Doubles 4 HR and 43, YES 43 stolen bases in 15 games (teams who refuse to pitch to him might as well be giving up a triple) Not to mention 3-0 on the mound with 0.0 ERA with 2:1 strikeouts per inning.

Ten to twenty scouts are at every game he plays and he continues to show out in front of them. I wont be shocked if Konnor ends up going top 5 or 3 overall. He's that good and ohh yeah he's only 17 and supposed to be a JR in High school (he reclassified this year for the draft)

He reclassified because he was old for the 2025 draft. His age is right in line with normal seniors entering the 2024 draft.

ETA: The relative weakness of the overall 2024 high school draft class also played a giant role in his decision to reclassify. Cam Caminiti and PJ Morlando also reclassed for that reason.

ETAA: I think it was Noah Franco that also reclassed, not Morlando.
